The Big Hoot

Birmingham Children's Hospital Has teamed up with Wild in Art to stage the biggest ever mass participation, public art event in the city...The Big Hoot.

The owls have been sponsored by local businesses and will be taking up perches across Birmingham for ten weeks from 20th July.

They will be joined by a parliament of cute "owlet" sculptures that will be designed and crafted by local students and teachers.

After local communities and thousands of visitors have enjoyed The Big Hoot, the large owls will be auctioned to raise significant funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Bloomsbury had their own owlet to design and create. The children have been exploring democracy and children's rights and making decisions together about what it would become.

They voted for her to be a girl and that her name would be Elsa!

Here she is all finished with a new friend!
