Our Daily Routines help contribute to the development of a strong child

Why is a routine so important for young children?

A routine helps babies + young children feel secure. The world is full of unexpected wonder, most of it nice, but some of it scary. On the most basic level routines are very comforting and reassure children that their needs will be met. Developmentally the youngest children do not understand the concept of time passing so they measure their lives by the order of events in it. Creating a stable routine helps all children to make sense of their world and develop a sense of security and belonging : to know when, where and how things happen is fundamental to nurturing emotional well being + resilience in us all.

Building the confidence + reassurance they need for freer, child initiated expression, play, learning + development.
